Robin Phyllis Britt Simmons, 75, of Lake City, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Shands in Gainesville.

Born November 10, 1938, in Parrish, Florida, to the late Charles Mead Britt and Marjorie Gillett. She was a L.P.N and moved to Lake City in 2008, she loved genealogy, crocheting, reading, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Phyllis Chitty.

Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, John Simmons, of Lake City, one daughter; Melody Downey (Daniel) of Lake City, one brother, Charles Mead Britt Jr. (Rose) of Palmetto, Fl., six grandchildren, Jacob Simmons (Brittany) of Palmetto, FL., Daniel Downey Jr. (Ginny) of Fredericksburg, Va., Daniela Moreland, of Lake City., Timothy Downey (Felisha), of Ft. White, Fl., John Paul Chitty ( Jodie) of Parrish, Fl., and Melissa Green, of Parrish, Fl. and eight great grandchildren also survive.

Graveside services for Mrs. Simmons will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, August 15, 2014 at Parrish Cemetery in Parrish, Florida with Pastor Arleen Beck officiating. Visitation with the family and friends will be held one hour (10:00-11:00 am) prior to the service at the cemetery.
