Mr. Robert Dexter Young, 55, a Lifelong resident of Branford passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, unexpectedly. He has left a huge hole in the hearts of all who knew him well.

Robert is survived by his wife of thirty-six years Lori Young, Branford FL. His three daughters Kristen Peterson (Tyler) Branford, FL, Jessica Pender (Tyler) Lake City, FL, and Madison Young (Tiffany) Lake City, FL. His mother Patricia Young, Branford, FL. Three brothers Ray Young (Kim), Ronald Young (Jeannie), and Ryan Young all from Branford, FL. One uncle Eugene Young (Rita) Lake City, FL, and two aunts Wanda Hart (Hyman) Mayo, FL, and Peggy Rickett (Ramie) Branford, FL. And a host of nieces and nephews and cousins and friends also survived.

Robert was excited to be welcoming his first grandchild, Riley Dexter, who will be here on August 16, 2024.

He is the son of Patricia Finch Young and the late James Dexter Young. Many family members have passed before Robert, but none will be forgotten.

Robert was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time with his family, and friends and he loved his dogs. Robert was a Captain at Mayo Correctional Institution in Mayo, FL where he had worked for the past nineteen years. He loved his correctional family and the bonds he created with them.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. with speakers Chad Driver and Matt Tompkins. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to service at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
