Mr. Robert W. "Bobby" Duncan, 57, of Lake City passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020 at the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville following an extended illness. A native of Boynton Beach, Florida, Bobby was the son of the late James Burton Duncan and Diane Elaine Hoffmann and was a graduate of Columbia High School Class of 1980. After high school, Bobby attended the University of North Alabama where he played football. He retired from the Florida Highway Patrol after 25 years of service and has been taking care of his mother for the past 6 years. Bobby enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved spending time with his nieces and nephews and was of the Baptist faith. Bobby was preceded in death by his father, James Burton Duncan; brother, George S. Duncan; and his daughter, Deanna Rae Duncan.
Bobby is survived by his mother, Diane E. Duncan of Lake City; brothers, James J. "Jimmy" Duncan (India) of Christiana, TN and Burton H. Duncan (Cissy) of Lake City; nieces and nephews, Randy, Rachel, Rebecca, Corbett (Kelsey), and Grace Duncan.
Due to the current stay at home order, memorial services will be held at a later date for friends, family, and FHP family at the chapel of the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 289 SE Hopeful Drive, Lake City, FL 32025
