Robert W. "Bob" Parnell, 83 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at the HCA Florida North Florida Hospital in Gainesville.  Mr. Parnell was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the second oldest of 8 sons to the late George H. Parnell and Dorothy L. Teague Parnell.  He was raised in Fort Lauderdale and attended Stranahan High School before serving our country in the United States Army.  Mr. Parnell moved his family to Lake City in 1972 and worked as a Master Carpenter having many projects in the Lake City area.  He loved woodworking, gardening and was always tinkering on something.  Mr. Parnell was of the Baptist faith and loved to spend time with his family.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Ed, Wayne, Doug and Charlie Parnell.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Brenda J. Parnell of Lake City; his daughter, Sue Conerly (Perry) of Alachua; his son, Michael Parnell (Terri) of Fort White;  three brothers, Donald Parnell of Fort White, Dennis Parnell of Hobe Sound and Mark Parnell of Branford; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren with a great-granddaughter due in November of 2025.

Funeral services for Mr. Parnell will be conducted on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 5:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel.  A time of visitation will follow the funeral in the chapel till 7:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Vets in memory of Mr. Parnell.
