Robert Arnold Nichols, 80, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, May 27, 2021 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born raised in Lake City, and is the son on the late Walter Nichols and Tobbie Fackler. He was a US Army Veteran and retired after 22 years of honorable service. He then went to work as a Shop Foreman with the Division of Forestry, where he retired after 20 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the New Apostolic Church and is preceded in death by his daughter, Anna Gail Nichols.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brigitte Nichols of Lake City and daughter, Linda Windham of Lake City. Three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.

A Graveside funeral service for Mr. Nichols will be conducted on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Huntsville Cemetery with Raymond Dorsey officiating. Interment will follow.
