Rita Yvonne Riegel, 69, of Wellborn, Florida, passed away on Saturday evening, February 11, 2023 at her residence following a short illness. She was born in Deland, Florida on May 9, 1953 to the late Robert Flowers and Catherine Mackey Flowers. She moved to Wellborn in 1986 with her children, Cathy Carter (Jeff), William McDuffie (Violet), Denny McDuffie, Cynthia Corbett and Connie McDuffie. Rita also has four surviving brothers, Jerry Meriwether, Robert Flowers (Joanie), Thomas Flowers (Vicki) and Michael Flowers.

She worked in insurance for 38 years, 35 of which were with agents of State Farm and the last twenty plus with John Burns State Farm. She developed relationships with clients on a personal level which had a major impact on those friends and her community.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Catherine Flowers; her son, William McDuffie as well as other loved ones who surely rejoiced at her homecoming.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Riegel will be conducted on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. prior to the services.
