Ricky Lee McCormick, Jr., 28, of Lake City, Florida suddenly passed away at his home on June 11, 2021.  Ricky was born in Gainesville, Florida on May 4, 1993, to Ricky Lee McCormick, Sr. and Kristine Joy Benton.  Ricky was a lifetime resident of Lake City, FL.

Ricky was predeceased by his grandparents, Carl L. and Kathleen T. Cummings, Frank McCormick, and Marvin and Maxine Kilpatrick.

Ricky graduated from Columbia High School, Lake City, FL with the Class of 2011.  Ricky played JV and Varsity Basketball. He attended Lake City Community College. Ricky grew up at the Columbia County Boy's Club where he played football and basketball and truly found the love of basketball. He had so many friends there who became lifelong friends. He later worked there under the leadership of John Bailey and later Bill Caley, and his awesome Nana, Miss Kay. Ricky was currently working as a server at Red Lobster here in Lake City and loved his co-workers and meeting new people.

Ricky is survived by his father Rick (Traci) McCormick, his mother Kristine (Dave) Benton; sisters, Kelli Ann McCormick, Savannah Benton, Macy McCormick; brother, Joshua Benton; uncles, Carl Cummings, John Cummings, Dan Cummings, Mike Cummings, Joey Cummings; aunts, Kathy Cummings, Laurie (Steve) Griffin, Linda McCormick, Marlene Spakes, Pat Redmon, Lisa Strickland and Carol Wadford.

Visitation for friends and relatives will be at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 5:00-7:00PM. There will be a service at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11:30AM., with Mr. Trey Lee officiating.
