Ricky Defee, 62, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday evening, September 3, 2022 at the HCA Florida – Lake City Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born in West Palm Beach Florida on September 4, 1959 and has made the Lake City area his home for the last 15 years. He owned his own business in the Heavy Equipment Field and was known by many as "Top Cat Rick". He was of the Pentecostal faith; and in his spare time, he enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley, hunting, fishing and four wheeling. He is preceded in death by his father, Samuel Lee Defee.
He is survived by his wife of eleven years, Michelle Defee; mother, Linda Joyce Holstein; sons, Samuel Defee (Brittany) and James Defee (Lora); brother, Randy Defee (Jeanie Kaye); sisters, Theresa Arnold (Wayne) and Cindy Wild. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, McKenzie, Zoe, Ella, James, Jr. and Mason.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Defee will be conducted on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with his brother-in-law, Evangelist Robert C. Porter, Jr., officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service.
