Rickey C. Culpepper, 67, of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday morning, February 8, 2022 at the HCA-Florida Brandon Hospital in Brandon Florida after a brief illness. He was born in Gadsden, Alabama on January 19, 1955 to the late Eugene and Dessie Johnson Culpepper. He has lived in Lake City for the past 32 years, moving here from West Palm Beach. He was a Master Electrician and has been employed with Moss & Associates since July 10, 2006, where he was presently the Superintendent. He was known to have a very strong work ethic and could work a job from the ground up, was known to be the life of the party and had a black belt in karate. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to River Ranch, saltwater fishing, going to the beach, cheering on the Florida Gators and enjoying a cold Coors Light. He loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren dearly. He is preceded in death by his son, Rickey C. Culpepper, Jr. and his sisters, Mary Ellen Vinyard, Shirley Leppotry and Peggy Hearn.
He is survived by his son, Jason Culpepper; daughters, Sabrina Cittadino and Tallie Hamm; brothers, Edward Culpepper and Clifford Culpepper; sisters, Jody Daley and Genell O'barr. Six grandchildren, Tyler Moseley, Tucker Boggs, Jessica Barker, Trent Barker, Cayden Culpepper and Logan Cittadino with one great-granddaughter on the way. He is also survived by his wife, Edna Patricia Gonzalez Bertheau.
A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Culpepper will be conducted on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Edenfield officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service.
