Richard John Ornowski, a former State Trooper and proud Marine, passed away on July 23rd, 2024. He was born on October 19, 1954, to the late John Ornowski and Mary Sofchuk. Richard leaves behind his beloved wife, Margarita Ornowski, and their four sons, Brian Ornowski (Kathleen), Pito Velez (Julie), Christopher Hueck (Kailey), and Loudendorff Hueck. He also leaves behind his favorite "Daughter" and animal companion, Poochi Ornowski.

Richard dedicated his life to serving his country and community. He served in the United States Marine Corps for 2 years before joining the Florida State Troopers, where he faithfully served for almost 34 years. Richard was known for his dedication to his career, his love for his family, and his passion for helping others.

In addition to his wife and sons, Richard is survived by 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson, who brought him immense joy and pride. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, known for his kind heart, strong work ethic, love for the lord and savior and unwavering commitment to those he cared about.

Richard enjoyed spending time outdoors, working in the yard, and swimming in his pool. He will be remembered for his love of family, his sense of humor, and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A FHP viewing service to celebrate Richard's life will be held on August 1st, 2024 at Gateway Forest Lawn Funeral Home, at 9:00am-11:00am located at 3596 US-41, Lake City, FL 32025 and following immediately after we will continue his Marine Corps service located at 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218 starting at 2:30pm.
