Mrs. Rhonda Boston Russell, 69, of Lake City died Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center following a valiant health battle for the last two years. A native and lifelong resident she was the daughter of the late Clarence A. "C.A." Boston and Betty Lee Poitevint. She had worked at the State Exchange Bank, was with the startup of CNB Bank as a bookkeeping supervisor, and then worked at Odom Moses and Company as a processor. She was an animal lover rescuing and keeping many cats and dogs, loved to cook and bake, but most importantly loved spending time with her precious grandson Ethan. Mrs. Russell was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Lake City.

Mrs. Russell is survived by her husband Jack Russell; daughter, Shane Russell Thomson; grandson, Ethan Jack Thomson; mother, Betty L. Boston; sisters, Rita Boston Swisher (Jimmy), Terri Boston Brown (Danny), and Patricia Boston Stuart (Greg), all of Lake City; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Russell will be conducted at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. with Dr. Fritz Fountain officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lake City Humane Society, 1392 NW Shelter Glen, Lake City, FL 32055.
