Rhonda L. Laubenheimer, "Ms. L", 59 of Lake City, passed away from a long 7 year battle of cancer and illness.  "Ms. L.", as she was known by her students, taught kindergarten for 28 years with the majority of those years being in Columbia County.  She was president of the Teachers Union in Columbia County for 7 years.  She was a very loving and giving person who found her joy in helping others.  She was a wonderful loving mother and "mimi" who found her pride and joy in taking care of and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Jason Laubenheimer and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Laubenheimer of Lake City; two grandchildren, Trevor and Aubrey Laubenheimer of Lake City; two brothers, Terry Buice, Miami and John Buice, Lake City; two sisters, Donna Swift, St. Augustine and Sandra Kinard, Miami;  and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, Decemeber 1, 2015 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Brandon Witt officiating and assisted by Janet Samson.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 2-3:00 pm.  Family and friends are encouraged to attend to celebrate our beloved Rhonda.
