Obituary

The Reverend Kenneth Lee Goodrich II, born in 1955 in Memphis, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and congregation. He was 70 years old.

Pastor Ken, as he was known to many, faithfully served as pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Lake City, where he was the sheepdog to the flock, guiding with wisdom, compassion, and an enduring commitment to God's word. His deep love for his church was evident in every sermon he preached, every hand he held, and every life he touched. His presence in the pulpit was matched only by the warmth he shared in the everyday moments of ministry—visiting the sick, encouraging the weary, and celebrating the joys of life with his congregation.

Reverend Goodrich was a man of many passions. He found great joy in playing golf, watching the Phillies, and relaxing in his favorite place on earth, Upper Captiva. He was also an Accomplished guitar player, and singer. His chocolate desserts were those of legend.

He is preceded in death by mother Jeanne Betty Lehman Goodrich and his beloved aunt, Mary Van Dam, whose influence and love remained with him throughout his life.

Ken is survived by his devoted wife, Joan (Walker) Goodrich; his children Kenny, Bobby, and Alison ; his son-in-law Robbie; and his cherished grandchildren Amber, Lillie, Kenslee, and Hannah, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his father, Kenneth Lee Goodrich Sr, and his step mother Marj Adler; his sisters Kathleen and Michele; and his brothers Jimmy and Jason, as well as many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

To know Pastor Ken, was to know humility, grace, and deep devotion. He was a loving husband, a proud father and grandfather, a faithful son and brother. His absence leaves a quiet space in the lives of those who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family, his church, and his community.

A service to celebrate his life and ministry will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Lake City, where he faithfully served and loved, Saturday August 9, 2025 @11:00 A.M. Those who are attending are encouraged to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirt. Live streaming will be available.
