Renee Nanette Cobb, 76, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, May 20, 2024 at the Shands at University of Florida Hospital in Gainesville after a long battle with illness and injury. She was born in Tampa, Florida on February 21, 1948 to the late Byron Polen and Margaret Kosto Polen. She was a graduate of the University of South Florida with a degree in Elementary Education. She has made Lake City her home since 1986, moving here from Sarasota. She was a member of the Orchard Community Church in Lake City, and had many interests, vocations and hobbies throughout her lifetime, but first and foremost she was a wife, mother, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Kyla Cobb.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, David Cobb; sons, Mark Cobb (Kimberly) of Boca Raton and Jason Cobb (Melissa) of Lake City; and her sister, Dorothy Hall (Ronnie) of Brandon. Seven grandchildren, Bergen Cobb, Kara Cobb, Jocelyn Finston, Teagan Cobb, Hunter Cobb, Tristan Cobb and Bradan Cobb also survive.
A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Cobb will be conducted on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at the Orchard Community Church, Southridge Campus, 162 SW Ridge Street, Lake City, FL, with Pastor Chip Parker officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the United Way of Suwannee Valley.
