Mrs. Rena Vee Scaff, peacefully passed from this life to her Heavenly home on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the age of 82. Born in Foley, Florida on July 19, 1933, daughter of the late James L. and Lois Snipes Williams, Mrs. Scaff was a resident of Cross City, FL for 40 years until moving to Lake City, FL in 1973 and living there for 40 years. After the death of her husband, Richard Scaff, she took up residence at The Village in Gainesville, FL for 2 ½ years.
Mrs. Scaff was a legal secretary in Cross City and a realtor and bookkeeper in Lake City. She loved fishing, spending time relaxing at her river homes, gardening, reading, traveling and sporting events. She was also regional chairperson for the March of Dimes for several years. Mrs. Scaff was a member of the First Baptist Churches in Cross City, Lake City and Gainesville, FL while living in those locations.
Survivors of Mrs. Scaff include her daughter, Debbie (Garry) Durham of Cross City, FL; her son, Dennis (Vicki) Lord of Lake City, FL; her stepdaughter, Jenny (Bruce) Drawdy of Lake City, FL; 4 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 5 great grandsons and 2 nieces belonging to her only sibling, a sister who preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Dr. John Fairless officiating assisted by Bro. Mike Brown. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service on Monday from 10-11:00 am at the funeral home. Our family would like to thank the staff at Palm Garden Rehab Facility and Haven Hospice for the wonderful care given to our mother and love not only shown to her but her family as well. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mrs. Scaff's favorite charities which she faithfully donated to: the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society and the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
