Rachel Helen Markham Trumbach, 80, of Lake City, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025. She was born in Lake City on August 24, 1944 to the late George Markham and Eula Priest Markham. She spent over 30 years of her life in New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina forced her to return back home to Lake City. She worked for a little over 42 years as a Nurse, and was very dedicated to her work. Her career as a nurse was something she was very proud of and cherished all of those years and friendships made with coworkers. She had a giving heart and was a solid foundation of love from many. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in the yard, gardening, mowing, watching murder mysteries on TV, reading and most importantly spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 31 ½ years, Bernard J. Trumbach; her son, David A. Creel; and her brothers, Alton, Frank, Wendell, Gilbert and Lamar Markham.

She is survived by her two loving grandchildren, Erika Barrs Edenfield (Josh) and Emily Creel all of Lake City; and her two great-grandchildren, Reid Talmadge Edenfield and Rowan Priestly Edenfield both of Lake City. Many extended family members and friends also survive.

A funeral service for Mrs. Trumbach will be conducted on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Brendan White officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
