Philip A. Browning, Jr., passed away peacefully on December 8, 2020, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born September 18, 1940, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, to the late Ethel Thomas Browning and Philip A. Browning, Sr., and proudly grew up in Lake City, Florida.

He is preceded in eternal life in heaven by his parents; his brother, Thomas Perry Browning; and numerous beloved family members.

Philip graduated from Columbia High School in Lake City, Florida, in the Class of 1958 and from Florida State University in 1962. Following graduation, he attended the University of Florida Law School and then moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he spent most of his adult life. In Atlanta, he was the President and CEO of Striton Properties and Institutional Management Corporation. He served as a Deacon at Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church and was a proud Eagle Scout and diehard Florida State fan.

He is survived by his children, Callie Hudak (Ryan) of Atlanta, Georgia; Sarah Hales of Atlanta, Georgia; and Philip T.M. Browning (Jessica) of Tallahassee, Florida; and five grandchildren, Edward Hales IV, Cate and Lucy Hudak, and Peter and Harry Browning.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a nonprofit making a difference in your community during this difficult year. A private graveside service will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020.
