Peggy Wise Sanders passed away peacefully at Haven Hospice on May 14, 2022 after a long illness with Toxic Exposure Dementia. She was born in Lake City, Florida on March 20, 1934 to Robert Alfred Wise and Wilma Marie Wise (nee Moore). She attended Columbia High School and later Lake City Community College.
Peggy was widowed at a young age when her husband, Robert "Bo" Sanders, passed away in 1969. She went back to school after his passing to become a cosmetologist. She worked in this profession from 1971 - 2019. Her clients were her close friends and she loved them like family. When not working she was an avid advocate for homeless animals, maintaining her gardens and spending time with her family. Peggy was a Christian and lived a humble life of service and good works. She loved the blue grass music of her half-brother, Chubby Wise, and enjoyed reading medical articles on holistic wellness.
She is preceded in death by her son, Robert A. Sanders and her two grandsons, Robert S. "Sam" Sanders & Jon E. Sanders.
She is survived by her daughter Krista Brasel (Nick), three grandchildren; Megan Shepardson, Bryson Brasel and Mia Brasel. Three sisters; E Pauline Mason, Frances Lyons and Mary Malans. One brother; Richard Williamson (Annette).
A funeral service for Mrs. Sanders will be conducted on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Hugh Dampier officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on beginning at 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to the Lake City Humane Society, 1392 NW Shelter Gln, Lake City, FL, 32055.
