Peggy Sue Clanton, 67, of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at the HCA Florida – North Florida Hospital in Gainesville, after an extended illness. She was born in Norton, Virginia on September 19, 1956 to the late Claude Phillips and Devonia Inez Wade Phillips. She worked for a number of years in sales with Farmer's Furniture in Lake City, but her greatest joy was being a Mother and Grandmother. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, reading, going to the casino's to play the slot machines, but most of all, she enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Watertown Congregational Methodist Church and is preceded in death by eight siblings.

She is survived by her sons, Grange Coffin, IV (Allison) of California, Matthew Coffin and Tyler Clanton both of Lake City; and her daughter, Jennifer Sandell (Keith) of Tallahassee. Eight grandchildren, Autumn Coffin, Rose Coffin, Lily Coffin, Grange Coffin, V, Ciara Sandell, Dominic Sandell, Zachary Sandell and Kaylee Sandell along with 5 siblings also survive.

A graveside service for Mrs. Clanton will be conducted on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Earl Green officiating. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to the American Cancer Association.
