Mrs. Pauline H. Smith, 91 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City. Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Robert Fulton and Winnie Maude Rogers Harden. She was born in Union County, Florida and had lived most of her life in Lake City. Mrs. Smith was a charter member of Parkview Baptist Church and retired from the VA Hospital in Lake City after almost 40 years of employment. She enjoyed gardening, attending church and going on church outings with her church family. Mrs. Smith was a widow to the late Joseph E. Smith, Sr. and was also preceded in death by one brother, Pat Harden and one sister, Carland Dukes.
Survivors include one son, Joe E. Smith Jr. (Christine), Devon, PA; two daughters, Eleanor S. Cain (Tommy), Lake City and Winnie Lynn Wise (Larry), Marathon, FL; one sister, Delores Turpin, Summerville, GA; three grandchildren, Deana Vickery, Lake City, Taylor Moyer and Parker Smith both of Devon, PA; and four great grandchildren, Christopher and Tyler Vickery and Seth and Luke Moyer also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be conducted on Friday, April 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Tatum, pastor of Parkview Baptist Church officiating assisted by her nephew, Dr. Robert Harden. Interment will follow at Old Providence Cemetery in Union County. Visitation with the family will be from 1-2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service on Friday at the chapel.
