Patty devoted the majority of her working years to the service industry, spending her final decades as a beloved waitress at Cedar River Seafood in Lake City. Her career was defined by a genuine commitment to others, reflected in her friendly nature; Patty never met a stranger and had an uncanny ability to strike up conversations and truly learn about those around her.

Beyond her professional life, Patty’s heart was firmly rooted in her family. She was a devoted life partner to Tim Sceals and a loving mother to her daughter, Kayla Ford, and William Sanders. She took immense pride in being "Mom," "Granny," and "Aunt Patty," roles that brought her greatest happiness. She cherished her grandchildren, Raina and Willow Sanders, and was surrounded by a rich tapestry of family—including her mother Laujoy Walker, father Jimmie Walker Sr., brothers Lewis Walker (and his wife Cheyenne Walker), Mac Johnson, Tony Johnson (along with his wife Charlotte Johnson), and Jimmie Walker Jr., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended relatives. Patty’s father, Robert Johnson, preceded her in death.

Known for her unwavering dedication to family traditions, Patty was especially remembered for her signature dressing at Thanksgiving—a dish so cherished that she never needed to ask what to bring, as it was eagerly anticipated by everyone. Her love for family extended to Wednesday night dinners, events she made every effort to attend even after long shifts at work, reflecting her deep-seated commitment to togetherness.

In her leisure time, Patty found joy in fishing, an activity that allowed her peaceful moments amid her bustling life. In the last year of her life, she embraced new ways to serve others by volunteering at the Soup Kitchen in Lake City, where she cooked and served meals to those in need. She expressed great fulfillment in this work, cherishing the opportunity to give back to her community.
