Patsy Ruth Harris, 86, passed away May 21, 2022 at the Orange Park Medical Center in Orange Park, Florida.  She was born in Sebring, Florida, on January 17, 1936, and moved to Lake City when she was four and attended school here.  After graduation from Columbia High, she attended Georgia Southern College and later returned to Lake City to work for the telephone company.  When Lake City went to dial-up service, she went to work at Lake Shore Hospital and continued her work there for 40 plus years.  After retirement, she volunteered at Columbia High School for 10 years and was selected twice as County-wide volunteer of the year.  Patsy was a giving soul and was top fund raiser for both the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life multiple years.  She was an avid Gator fan attending both home and away games.  She just received her 30 year award from the University of Florida Gator Booster Club.  Patsy was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin and Myra McAulay Harris.

She is survived by her sister, Debra Harris Wright (Mike); her little Yorkie, "Buttons", and her Solaris family.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Mike Wright officiating.  Interment will follow.  In lieu of flowers, please do something kind for someone else and remember Patsy.
