Patricia D. Rooks, 80 of Lake City, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024 at the HCA Lake City Hospital.  She was born in Marianna, Florida to the late Wilbur Daniels and Fronnie Peacock Daniels.  Ms Rooks was a graduate of Jackson County High School in Marianna and had made her home in Lake City for over 50 years.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended the Price Creek Ward in Lake City when able.  Ms Rooks worked for many years at the Lake City Middle School with the Columbia County School District.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Doyle Rooks, Jr.; and two siblings, Frank Daniels and Lois Locke.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Mike Kahlich, Lake City; two sisters, Joyce Baxter (Tom), Malone, FL and Betty Bateman (Bob), Dayton, OH; two granddaughters, Chelsey Kahlich Slattery (Charlie), Inglis, FL and Heaven Rooks, Lake Butler; and one great-grandchild, Sawyer Slattery, Inglis, FL.

Graveside funeral services for Ms Rooks will be conducted on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Brother Jeff Thomas officiating.  Interment will follow.  A time of visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
