Pamela O. Knighton, 73 of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City.  She was born in Portland, Maine to the late Gerald and Annette Chasse Kelso.  Mrs. Knighton had made her home in Lake City since 1976 having moved here from Miami, FL.  She was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church and was a volunteer for many years with Catholic Charities in Lake City.  Mrs. Knighton worked for 25 years with the Lake City Reporter and also for 9 years with Catholic Charities of Lake City.  She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Mrs. Knighton was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, George A. Knighton, in 2015.

Survivors include her son, Michael Knighton (Iris), Rosh Ha'ayin, Israel; her daughter, Michelle Fitzgerald (Ken), Rockville, MD; her brother, Robert Kelso (Susie), Lawrenceville, GA; her sister, Teresa Jones (R.B.), Fernandina Beach, FL; and three grandchildren, Ariel Knighton, Shenhav Knighton and Brett Chavis whom she loved dearly.

A funeral mass will be conducted on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Epiphany Catholic Church with Father Andrzej Mitera officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities of Lake City at 258 NW Burk Ave., Lake City, FL 32055.
