OTIS PATRICK MASSEY

Otis Patrick Massey, 67, of Lake City, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice). He was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Otis and Hazel [Young] Massey and had lived in Columbia County for the past 40 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed being outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy was just spending time with his family especially the grandkids. He loved going to church and was a longtime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He faithfully served his country with the United States Navy and served from (67'–71') during the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 45 years, Barbara Massey, daughter, Jennifer Leigh (Billy) Connor of Lake City, FL; brother, Michael K. (Donna) Massey of Deland, FL; 3 grandchildren, David (Julie) Weeks, Dustin Connor, and Will Connor; and 2 great grandchildren, David "Jr." Weeks and Noelle Weeks; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family memorial services will be held at a later date.
