Orvetta Marie Friend, 67, of Fort White, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, November 26, 2020 after an extended illness. She was born in Point Pleasant, West Virginia on June 3, 1953 to the late Orvin Keith Dunlap and Mary Gibeaut Dunlap. She has made Columbia County her home since the mid 1990's, moving here from Columbus, Ohio. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a homemaker all of her life. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, going to Wild Adventures with them as well as going to the beach. She loved her "Fur Children" dearly as well as any other dog. She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Donald Lee Friend, Sr., and her brothers, Orvin and Harry Dunlap.

She is survived by her sons, Donald Lee Friend, Jr. (Kelly) and Jason Allen Friend; daughters, Donita Marie Long (Charles), Stephanie Ann Friend and Tamra Lynn Friend; sister, Judy Walker and 19 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Services for Mrs. Friend will be announced and conducted at a later time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
