Orland Jerome Carpenter

Orland Jerome Carpenter, 88, a resident of The Canopy of Harper Lake of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 6, 2026 after a brief illness. He was born in Rayland, Ohio on May 25, 1937 and has made Lake City his home since 2016, moving here from Rockford, Illinois. He served his country in the U.S. Army and worked for many years in Beverage Sales. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting dog trials; and also enjoyed fishing and hunting. In his spare time, he also enjoyed camping and loved sports, especially watching football. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Taylor Kirk; sons, Timothy and Michael Carpenter; and several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 42 years, Raenita Carpenter; son, Douglas Carpenter; step-children, Rick Gottschalk (Robin) and Renee Gottschalk (Fred); and daughter-in-laws, Lynn and Diane Carpenter. Four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many extended family members and friends also survive.
