Obituary

Norman LeBert, 89, of Wellborn, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, November 10, 2024 at the Haven Hospice – Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City after an extended illness. He was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on October 14, 1935 to the late René and Antoinette LeBert. He was a United States Navy Veteran, where he retired as a Chief Petty Officer after many years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outside, gardening and working in the yard, and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother, Raymond LeBert; and his sisters, Irene Podlaski, Doris LeBert and Diane Gurr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Lorraine Marie LeBert of Wellborn; sons, Norman René LeBert (Shelley) of Jacksonville and Mark Eugene LeBert (Cheryl) of St. Augustine; daughters, Darlene Marie Neely (Gary) of Live Oak and Sharon LeBert Pocock (David Paul, Jr.) of Lake City. One sister, Rita Grenier (Roland) of Massachusetts along with six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews also survive.

As per Mr. LeBert's request, he will be cremated and his ashes spread at sea by the United States Navy.
