IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Norman Kurt
Heims
December 13, 1935 – June 13, 2024
Mr. Norman K. Heims, age 88, passed on to heaven on June 13, 2024. Norm was born in New York, NY after his parents Kurt and Hertha escaped prewar Nazi Germany by migrating to the USA through Ellis Island. Norm is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Heims, whom he was married to for almost 67 years and had four children: Kurt Heims, Sandra Peterson (husband Lloyd), Vincent Heims, and Norma Campbell (husband Robert). Granddad to 11 grandchildren: Jessica Land, Ruth McCracken, Trey Peterson, Seth Peterson, Zachary Peterson, Lee Peterson, Nathaniel Heims, Conner Heims, Madison Campbell, Brandon Campbell, and Arabella Campbell.
Norman grew up in Englewood, New Jersey. Obtained an Associate Degree at Fairleigh Dickinson College and attended the University of Vermont. He said the weather was too cold, so he moved to Orlando, FL., where he met his wife who was attending business college. Norman was a jack of all trades, including being a mechanic, realtor, and a contractor of seawalls, pools and homes. His motto "Work hard, play harder." He would tell you the best decision he ever made was in 1972 when he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. (Second best, was marrying Ruth). Norm's vibrant personality and ability to tell a good story will be greatly missed.
Memorial service will be held on June 28, 2024 at 10:00 am at Hopeful Baptist Church in Lake City, FL. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to The Gideons International, www.gideons.org.
