Nora Land Lord, 84, of Lake City, FL, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Stillwaters West. Nora fought a courageous battle with alzheimer's and is now resting in peace.

Nora retired from the FL Department of Transportation after 29 years. She enjoyed playing golf, traveling, gardening and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lake City.

Nora is survived by her husband of 33 years, Elvin C. Lord; 3 children: Lynn Stiles of Lake City, FL, Phil (Ann) Stiles of Mooresville, NC, and Larry Stiles of Lake City, FL; two stepchildren: Debbie (Garry) Lord Durham of Cross City, FL, and Dennis (Vicki) Lord of Lake City, FL; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister: Ottie Nash of Mayo, FL; brothers: Buford Land of Tallahassee, FL, Jack Land of Live Oak, FL and Colon Land of Mayo, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jeff Tate officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the funeral home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
