Mr. Nelson W. Stone, 69, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) in Lake City, FL. He is the son of the late William Isaic and Mary Annie Foreman Stone and was preceded in death by two brothers, William Larry Stone and Allen Wade Stone, and a sister, Arthie Louise Stone. Mr. Nelson was a lifelong resident of Columbia County and was of the Baptist Faith and attended Hopeful Baptist Church, he had worked for over thirty years for Aero Corporation, which is now HAECO. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, making knives, doing European Deer skull mounts, and meat processing. He organized the North Lake City Church of God's kids fishing tournament. Mr. Nelson truly loved the outdoors.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife of fifty plus years Linda Stone, Lake City, FL; one son Brian Stone (Charis) Lake City, FL; one daughter Christina Stone Johnson (Randall) Lake City, FL his brother-in-law Richie Decker (Denise) Lake City, FL; his best friend and brother Terry Pemberton (Tina) Lake City, FL; four grandchildren, Ashley, Ashton, Kylie, and Hartley, three great-grandchildren Adalynn, Luke, Aubrey.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Dr. Billy Young officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.  Arrangements are under the direction of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 3596 S US Hwy 441, Lake City, FL 32025.  Please leave words of comfort for the family at www.gatewayforestlawn.com .
