Nelia Joyce Weaver, 82, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2023 after an extended illness. She was born in Miami, Florida on May 4, 1941 to the late Fred Toledo and Shirley Raskin Toledo. She has made Lake City her home since 2006, moving here from the Tampa area where she lived for more than 50 years surrounded by family and friends. Nelia devoted her life to caring for her husband, child and grandchildren, as well as various friends and extended family. As an artist, baker and crafter, she brought endless beauty and joy into the world. A multi-talented and truly gifted person, she was a creator who gave easily and selflessly.

Nelia is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Sonny Weaver, her parents and special aunts, uncles, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and cousins.

She is survived by her daughter, Teri Jones (David), her sisters, Diana Hughes (Ed), Sandy Stahl (Lloyd), her brother, Stanley Toledo (Judy), sister-in-laws, Minta Lutz (Richard) and Phyllis Weaver; her precious grandchildren, Ali, D.J. (Maddi), Shawn (Lisa), and Daniel; one great-grandchild, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Nelia will also be remembered fondly by their dog Ginger, as well as their many lifetime friends.

The family gives special thanks to the following medical team for their care and compassion to Nelia and her family: Nurses Ranee, Dionne, Katina, Stephanie, Christina and Kim, as well as Dr. Miguel Tepedino.

A celebration of life gathering for Nelia will be held at their home on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Guests are welcome to visit from 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously welcomes donations to the Alzheimer's Association in Mrs. Weaver's Name. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME.
