Nathan Howard Ward, 70, of Lake City, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014, at the VA Medical Center of Lake City, following an extended illness.
Born September 25, 1943 in Alexandria, Virginia to the late James Howard Ward and Bertha Keen Campbell. He has lived in Lake City and surrounding areas since childhood. He enjoyed car racing and golf. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Survivors include three daughters; Tracy Hickman (Trevor) of Lake City, Fl., Leslie Herndon (Keith) of Branford, Fl., and Kimberly Houston (Greg) of Lake City, Fl., two brothers; Anthony Ward (Carolyn) of Live Oak, Fl., Johnny Ward of Lake City, Fl., three sisters, June Stillwell (Jim) of North Carolina, Sharon Harrell (Spanky) of Lake City, Fl., Sandra Croft (Al) of Lulu, Fl., nine grandchildren; Kyle, Kelsey, Katelynn Hickman, all of Lake City, Fl., Noah, Madison, Ethan Herndon and Matthew Harrell all of Branford, Fl., Hunter and Haley Houston, of Lake City, Fl., and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him very much also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 am, Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Gateway Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Tate officiating. Interment will follow in Keen Cemetery. Visitation with the family and friends will be from 9:00am-10:30am at the funeral home.
