Murray Samuel "Flip" Stamper, 76, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, June 20, 2025 at the Solaris Healthcare of Lake City after a brief illness. He was born in Lake City on November 19, 1948 to the late Johnnie Norris Stamper and Pearl Elizabeth Bonds Stamper. He worked for a number of years with Anderson-Columbia as a Dump Truck Operator; and was also a US Army Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Maggie Stormant Stamper; brothers, Bill Stamper, Bobby Stamper and Frank Stamper; and his sister, Susan Nettles.
He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Stamper of Texas; brothers, Allen Mark Stamper of Lake City and Harry Stamper of Pensacola; and his sisters, Ruth Coffee and Diane Hodges all of Lake City. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews & great-great-nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of life service for Flip will be conducted on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jerry Tyre officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
