Monroe Lawerence Morrell, Sr., 98 of Lake City, FL passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. He was born on November 29, 1925 in White Springs, FL and has resided in Lake City, FL since a very young age. He is the son of the late William Edward Morrell and Lucille Newell Morrell.

Monroe's career was a rancher and agricultural endeavors. In addition, he assisted many of his fellow cattle owners with their cattle before veterinarians were available. He was very mechanically inclined and could repair or build almost anything. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and after retirement he spent many years fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. In his 80's he started flying drones over his fields and the Suwannee River. He is survived by children Monroe "Larry" Lawerence Morrell, Jr, and his wife Marge of Longwood, FL, Robert "Bob" Wayne Morrell and his wife Connie of Cape Coral, FL, and Marilyn Clarice Hamm and her husband Gary of Lake City, FL.

Monroe was very proud of his grandchildren David Morrell (Amy), Anson Hamm (Ashley), Mari Peele (Greg) and Carolyn Morrell and his six great grand-children Emma, Elise, Grace and Andrew Morrell, Penelope Hamm, and Charlotte Peele. He is also survived by his brother Wayne Morrell and has numerous nieces and nephews that he enjoyed. He was preceded in death by his wives Clarice Wood Morrell and Ann Opgenorth.

Funeral services for Mr. Morrell will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Gateway Forest Lawn Funeral Chapel with Dr. Billy Young officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Methodist Church Cemetary. The family will receive friends between 5 and 7 PM, Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Gateway Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
