Minnie L. Philman "Nana", 78, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016, after an extended fight with cancer, at Shands UF in Gainesville. She was lovingly surrounded by her children and her devoted husband, as her Lord and Savior took her home. Minnie was born in Bell, Florida to the late Arvey and Effie [Kinsey] Bass and  has lived here in Lake City since 1956. During her years in the community, she owned and operated Philman Day Care for 22 years and the Flower Villa for 21 years. Mrs. Minnie loved her family and the children she cared for just as much. She was an active Advent Christian, faithfully committed to the service of the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister and 9 brothers.

Survivors include her wonderful husband 60 years, Dale Philman; her 4 children, Melanie (David) Taylor, Randy (Linda) Philman, Mike (Carla) Philman, and Melinda (Joseph) Howell; 10 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held At 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2016 in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Arnold O'Steen officiating.

Minnie was loving and outgoing to everyone she met and her light will be missed in this world.
