Mildred "Sue" Rhoden, 82, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, February 2, 2025 at the HCA Florida – Lake City Hospital in Lake City, after an extended illness. She was born on April 12, 1942 in Knoxville, TN to the late Elmer L. Lewis and Anna Burl Dunlap Lewis. She has made Lake City her home since 1974 and worked for over 35 years with Krystals. She was a faithful member of the Lake City Church of God and loved her church and church family. In her spare time, she enjoyed decorating her little apartment, sitting on her front porch and drinking her coffee, spending time with her grandson Elijah as well as with her friends and neighbors. She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John Wayne Rhoden and her siblings, Frank Lewis, Roy Lewis and Mary Perry.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Clark (Kevin) of Pinson, AL; grandson, Elijah Clark of Pinson, Alabama; and her siblings, Pauline Slade, Madeline Humphrey and Wayne Lewis.

A funeral service for Mrs. Rhoden will be conducted on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 4:00 P.M. in the Lake City Church of God with Pastor Carl Thomas, officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 3:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church.
