MSgt Michael R Lyon, USAF (Ret) passed away from natural causes at the Lake City Veteran's Hospital on June 21st. Mike was a 30 year resident of Lake City, having moved here after a 28 year career in the USAF. To those who knew him, Mike was a loyal friend, a committed member of his parish, and a good fishing buddy. Mike had three loves in his life: his family, his faith, and his country. Along with Diane, his wife of 56 years with whom he has been in love since high school, Mike is survived by his four children. They are Debbie Boling (Ron), Mike Lyon (Tracy), Dawn Stephens (Danny), and Mark Lyon (Tania). Through them Mike was blessed with nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A viewing is scheduled at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Lake City on June 27th from 5-7pm. A funeral mass will be held at Epiphany Catholic Church on June 28th at 11:30 am.
