Mr. Michael Lance Bannister, 61, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the UF Health  Shands  Hospital in Gainesville, FL., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Lance is a lifelong resident of Lake City and the son of Kenneth and Judy Newton Bannister. He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Bannister. Lance enjoyed life to the fullest and enjoyed playing the guitar, drums, gardening, and woodworking. He loved to barbecue, spend time with his family, and he never met a stranger. And "He loved his Lord." And he was an avid FLORIDA GATOR FAN!!

Lance is survived by his mother Judy Bannister, Lake City, FL; his children Michael Casey Bannister (Amanda), Live Oak, FL;  Christian Tye Bannister, Jacksonville, FL, Ashley Danielle Bannister, Lake City, FL; Lauren Taylor Bannister, Tampa, FL, his three brothers Terry Bannister (Faith) Bradenton, FL; Derrick Bannister (Wendy), Lake City, FL; Corey Bannister (Vicki) Lake City, FL. two sisters, Traci Beville (John) Lake City, FL, and Leann Owens (Marty) Moultrie, GA; his fiancé Shannon Parrish and her children Michael Boyle (Lauren); Dylan Bullard (Megan) and Hunter Bullard (DeAnna) all of Lake City, FL, and Brayden and Becklyn Parrish, Lake City, FL his grandchildren Hayden, Logan, Madison, Jaidyn, Chole.

A funeral service for Mr. Michael Lance Bannister will be conducted on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:30 A.M. at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Pastor Chris Musgrove officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Saturday, September 6, 2025, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
