Mrs. Mattie Lee Ross, 95, of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Solaris Healthcare after an extended illness. She was born in Nashville, GA on June 11, 1925 to the late Seymour Fred Purdy and Nancy Leona Griffin Purdy. She was a life-long resident of Lake City and was a member of the First Christian Church here in Lake City. She was a secretary for many years until her retirement. She loved to cook, going to her mountain home in North Carolina with her husband Morris and reading. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Morris H. Ross; brothers, George Purdy, Raymond Wilson and Clayton Purdy; and sisters, Betty Crews, Mildred Feagle and Carol Ann Martin-Andrews.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David & Cathy Ross of Lake City; grandchildren, Audy Goff (Karen) and Melissa Anderson (Tony); great-grandchildren, Dustin Kane, Nick Goff, Caitlin Ngoepe, Erin Anderson and Jenalyn Anderson. Two great-grandchildren, Kiani Ngoepe & Zaelah Kane, along with extended family and friends also survive.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Ross will be conducted on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Art Peterson officiating.
