Matilda A. Ruark, 86, of Lake City, FL, passed away on February 12, 2016 at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center. She was the daughter of the late George and Gertrude Kohlbecher Ruark. After retiring from Michigan Bell in Detroit, Michigan as a technician representative supervisor, she moved to Lake City in 1994. She was a faithful member of Epiphany Catholic Church where she served with the Alter Society and on the Liturgy Committee, and was a loving sister, aunt, great and great great aunt and devoted friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, George Henry Ruark, her sisters: Mary Maynard, Gertrude, Katherine and Elizabeth Ruark, and her niece, Nanette Carnevale.
Survivors include her nieces: Karen (Ronald) Petre, Braselton, GA, Mary (Thomas) Swinney, Sanford, FL; Great nieces: Suzanne (Kyle) Pratt of Braselton, GA, Christine (Bill) Scheurich of Buford, GA, Jessica and Tiffany Swinney, both of Orlando, FL, and great great nephew Bradley and great great niece Mikayla.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 15, 2016, at Epiphany Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening, February 14, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center, 6037 W US Hwy 90, Lake City, FL 32055.
