Mary Katherine "Katie" Slanker, age 35 of Apopka, Florida, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 22, 2016.  She was an active member of Journey Christian Church and enjoyed volunteering.  She was attending college to earn her degree in business and was a very dedicated office manager for a travel agency.  Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family, whom she loved very much.  Katie was dearly loved by her family.  She was beautiful on the inside and out, smart, motivated, strong and could always make us laugh.  She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Slanker and her grandmother, Marilyn Irwin.

She is survived by her mom, Terri Talbott, stepfather, Jerry Talbott, sister, Jodi Roberts (Clay), her nieces, Alexa, Alyssa and Alana Roberts, her sister, Heather Talbott (Randy), nephew, Jared and niece Savanna.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 5:00 PM in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.  Visitation with the family will be from 4-5:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
