Mary Ellen Jarvis Fishburne, 72, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the HCA FL Lake City Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, New York on June 27, 1952. The Jarvis family moved to Lake City, Florida in May 1954. Mary Ellen graduated from CHS with the class of 1970 and went on to graduate from Lake City Community College in 1972. In October of 1972, she married her husband of fifty-two years and moved to South Carolina. She retired after more than thirty years from Andrews Primary School in Andrews, South Carolina. She and her husband moved back to Lake City, FL in 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Jarvis, Sr. and Margaret Jarvis, and her sister Margaret Ann Jarvis.

She leaves behind a family who loved her dearly: Husband: Alexander G. Fishburne, III, Brother Robert (Skip) Jarvis, Jr. (Pam), sisters: Betsy Atkinson (Norman) Cathy Thoss (Gary), Barbara Munn, Nancy Jernigan (Clifford), Wendy Jarvis, and Janet Lee (Larry) and Carol Woodworth, Uncle: Lyle R. Jarvis, numerous, nephews and nieces, numerous great nephews and nieces, and numerous great-great nephews and nieces and numerous cousins.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. a Funeral mass will be held at Epiphany Catholic Church on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 10:30 A.M.  with a private family gathering at her gravesite.
