Mary Lois Bostic, 82, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, August 29, 2024 with her family by her side, after a brief illness. She was born in Homestead, Florida on August 4, 1942 to the late William L. Hannah and Bertha Lucille Jenkins. She has made Lake City her home since 1981 and worked for the Florida Highway Patrol retiring in 2004 as an Office Operation Manager. She was a familiar face and a trusted friend to many. Her friendly waves, cheerful conversations, and thoughtful acts of kindness brightened the lives of everyone she encountered. Mary was deeply family-focused, cherishing every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and fulfillment. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of fort-one years, Robert Lee "Bob" Bostic; sisters, Charlotte Morrison and Bertha Graves; great-grandson, John W. Bedenbaugh; and step-daughters, Merritt Bostic and Regina Edwards.

She is survived by her son, Lynn Lounsbury (Carrie Lynn); daughters, Deborah Todd (Thomas) and Cheryl Lounsbury; step-sons, Robert Lee "Bo" Bostic & William "Billy" Bostic (Julie); and her brother, Oris L. "Lester" Burkett, Jr. (Patti); Six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Bostic will be conducted on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Dr. Mike Tatem, Pastor of Parkview Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday evening, September 4, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
