Mary Kathryn Blackwell passed away August 17, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Mary Kay was born in Jacksonville Florida to Herbert and Janet Blackwell. The family moved to Lake City where Mary Kay grew up and attended high school.  She later lived in both Tallahassee Florida and Wallingford Connecticut before moving back to Jacksonville. Mary Kay loved to spend her free time reading. You would often find her curled up with a good book or her kindle.  She will be remembered for her optimistic personality, dry sense of humor , and great love for her family and friends.  Her granddaughter Leah was her greatest joy.

She is survived by her mother Janet Blackwell,  her son Chris Blackwell, her beloved Granddaughter  Leah Blackwell, sisters Robin Blackwell and Bonnie Bahou, her brother Ken Blackwell,  and her cousins Patti Barlow and Geno Blackwell.

The world will not be the same without her. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME..
