Marley Shaw Knight Tarlton, 73, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, January 1, 2023 at the Haven Hospice – Suwannee Valley Care Center after a brief illness. She was born in Ponce De Leon, Florida on April 26, 1949 to the late Malcolm "Make" Shaw and Lilly Pearl Cadenhead Shaw. She has made Lake City her home since 1978, moving here from the Gainesville area. She was a CNA, starting her career out with Lake City Medical Center, then moving to the Lake City VA Medical Center where she retired from in the early 90's. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and playing computer games. She is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Clifton E. Knight; her brother, Jackie Shaw and her sisters, Lottie Shaw and Rhoda Tutchtone.

She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Bob Tarlton of Lake City; daughters, Jennifer Warren (Richard) of Virginia, Belinda Jenkins (Tim) of Woodstock, GA and Cheryl Knight of Lake City; brothers, S.H., Colon, Hasting and Marcus; and her sisters, Shirley, Jeanette, Louise, Patty, Marie "Hope" and Cissy. Six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.

A family graveside service for Mrs. Tarlton will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
