Mark Allen Terry, 56, of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday morning, September 3, 2025 at the HCA Florida- North Florida Hospital in Gainesville after a brief illness. He was born and raised in Lake City and worked for the Florida Department of Corrections for over 27 years, retiring as a Sergeant. He was also a member of the ROTC for a little over three years and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church here in Lake City. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing video games on the computer, model trains, bowling, cooking on the grill and watching Florida Gator Football. He was also an avid Star Wars fan, and enjoyed spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his father, Arnold Terry.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Tracey Terry of Lake City; mother, Paulette Bridges (Larry) of Lake City; sister, Betsy Roberts of Lake Butler; brother-in-law, Robert Shockley (Alice) of Nitro, WV; niece and nephew, Michael Roberts, Jr. (Maclay) of Lake City & Dana Roberts of Lake Butler, and Letha and Bobbie Shockley both of Nitro, WV; and great niece and nephew, Jennings & Boyd Roberts both of Lake City. Many cousins, extended family and friends along with his best friend, Jason Tuten of Mooresburg, TN and Mark's "Fur Child", Thor, also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Robert "Bob" Shockley, officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to a charity of your choice.
