Mrs. Marilyn Jean Bruce North, 75, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Fred Estil and Freda Mae Fox Bruce, Step- Mother Ruth Little Bruce, and was preceded in death by one sister Alice Roberts Hughes. Marilyn called Lake City, Florida her home for the past twenty-five years after moving here from Hialeah, Florida. She was a devoted Christian and a member of The Orchard Community Church. She enjoyed her small group, arts and crafts, sewing, cooking, reading, traveling, spending time with her family, loved thrift store shopping, and so much more. Marilyn is an amazing Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and the glue of her family.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of almost fifty-four years, James Edgar North, Jr. of Lake City, FL; her son Eric Bruce North and his Wife Jessica Duran North of Davie, FL. She is also survived by her four sisters; Sondra Bruce Sheehan and her husband Brian of Marietta, GA; Susan Roberts DelCol and her husband Eric of Delaware, OH; Patricia Bruce Kramer and her husband Charles of Johnstown, OH; Wilda Drawdy of Lake City, FL., and her grandchildren Emma Rae North, Julia Dee North, and Grace Whitney Drawdy.

A visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 8:00-9:30 AM, Following the visitation, there will be a graveside service at 11:30 A.M. at Jacksonville National Cemetery located at 4083 Lannie Road Jacksonville, FL 32218. Finally, there will be a Celebration of Life at 5:00 P.M. at The Orchard Community Church located at 162 SW Ridge Street Lake City, FL 32024 .
