Mrs. Marguerite Martin "Polly" Cobb, 84, of Lake City died Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Lake City Medical Center following a lengthy illness. A native and lifelong resident of Lake City, Mrs. Cobb was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Daisey Holland Martin. She graduated from Columbia High School Class of 1945, was an avid gardener and enjoyed interior decorating. Mrs. Cobb was a very active member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class, member and treasurer of the Grace Circle, and had been treasurer for many years of the United Methodist Women's Group. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Cobb in 2004.

Mrs. Cobb is survived by her son, James M. Cobb and his wife Jane of Orange Park, FL; her daughter Janice M. Cobb of Jacksonville Beach, FL; grandson, Scott Cobb and his wife Kory of Orange Park, FL; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cobb will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 14, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Lake City with Reverend Jeff Tate officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00-7:00 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
