Margie Cannon Young, 97, of Branford, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023 after a brief illness. She was born on December 31st, 1925 to Berry Cannon and Sally Hodge Cannon. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, James Owen Young; children, James Young, Bruce Young, Willie Ray Young, Danny Young & Mary Jo Adkins; granddaughter, Pamela Adkins; and her siblings, Thomas D. Cannon, Joe Pete Cannon, John Cannon, Marie Youngblood and Betty Shaw.

She is survived by her son, Eugene Young (Rita) of Lake City; daughters, Wanda Hart (Hyman) of Mayo and Peggy Rickett (Ramie) of Branford; daughter-in-law's, Pat Young of Branford and Shelli Osborne of Largo. Nineteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service for Mrs. Young will be conducted on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Robert Bradow and Brother Dustin Crews officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Branford. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
